We are keen to hear from both Senior and Principal/Associate Director level transport planning consultants to provide growth and flexibility to the growing business.  Focus TP is happy to discuss flexible working arrangements for these roles, including the possibility of part-time working, flexible start and finish times, and hybrid/remote working.

Senior Transport Planning Consultant

Ideally a minimum 4 years’ experience is required for this role with the successful candidate being able to bring the following to the role:

  • Project management of small-medium scale Transport Planning projects;

  • Production of Technical Notes, Transport Statements/Assessments;

  • Production of Framework and Full Travel Plans;

  • An understanding of highway design standards and guidance, as well as transport related planning guidance;

  • Input to junction design and undertaking swept path appraisals;

  • Data analysis and junction modelling (Junctions10, LinSig etc.);

  • Presentation skills, including attendance at client & Authority facing meetings as well as public consultation events;

  • All applicants should ideally have a relevant degree such as Civil Engineering, Geography, or Transport Planning and a high standard of writing skills. 

Principal Transport Planning Consultant/Associate Director

Ideally minimum 5 years’ experience is required for this role with the successful candidate being able to bring the following to the role:

  • Project management of Transport Planning projects;

  • Production of Technical Notes, Transport Statements/Assessments;

  • Production of Framework and Full Travel Plans;

  • An understanding of highway design standards and guidance, as well as transport related planning guidance;

  • Input to junction design and undertaking swept path appraisals;

  • Data analysis and junction modelling (Junctions9, LinSig etc.);

  • Presentation skills, including attendance at client & Authority facing meetings as well as public consultation events;

  • Preparation of evidence to support strategic/Local Plan site promotion;

  • An ability to project manage larger scale development projects, including preparation of complex Transport Assessments and input into Environmental Statements;

  • Preparation of evidence to input to Planning Appeals, including acting as Expert Witness at Planning Inquiries;

  • Project management of post-planning projects such as S38 & S278 works (engineering design experience is not essential);

  • All applicants should ideally have a relevant degree such as Civil Engineering, Geography, or Transport Planning and a high standard of writing skills.
