Andrew Bell

DIRECTOR (BA, MSC, MCILT, MCIHT)

Andrew has almost 25 years of experience in the development industry, previously working for consultancy firms Axis, SCP and RPS. Over this time Andrew has established a reputation for delivering a high quality client-focused service, reflected by the call-on role that he provides to several volume house-builders and other key development clients. Andrew also regularly acts as expert witness at planning appeals & public inquiries, enjoying the cut and thrust of cross-examination. When time permits, he also presents at industry conferences.

When not at work Andrew spends his time with his wife and two young daughters. He is a keen road-cyclist, clocking up the miles either in the stunning Peak District hills or as part of day-to-day commutes to the office. Whilst recently retired from competitive cricket, Andrew can still be regularly found supporting Marple Cricket Club. 

 

Mike Hughes

DIRECTOR (BENG, MCIHT)

Mike has over 15 years professional experience in the field of transport planning and engineering and has previously worked for consultancy firms Shepherd Gilmour, SCP & Axis. Mike’s experience includes project management of the transport related elements of medium to large scale development project and providing a leading role on a number of major development related transport studies. On a day-to-day basis Mike’s core skills are put to use in delivering Transport Assessments; input to Environmental Impact Assessments; appraisal of masterplan schemes; and, production of detailed scheme drawings.  Mike has also acted as expert witness at planning appeal hearings and public consultation exercises.

Away from the office Mike enjoys family life and trying to keep up with his young son.  He is a lifelong car and motorsports fanatic, and regularly attends events such as the annual Goodwood Festival of Speed and Revival, as well as international race meets.  A keen foodie and amateur brewer, Mike has recently started growing his own hops.

Kayley Goulbourne

DIRECTOR (BSC, MCIHT)

Kayley has 10 years transport planning experience, acting for a range of public and private sector clients. She regularly undertakes site feasibility appraisals, assesses highway link and junction capacity, provides highway design advice, prepares Transport Assessments & Environmental Statements and attends public consultations. Kayley specialises in preparing bespoke Travel Plans for clients to encourage use of alternative modes of travel to single-occupancy vehicles. She also has extensive experience in assisting contractors with traffic management for major construction projects, balancing the delivery of an efficient build programme whilst minimising disruption to the local highway network.

Outside the office Kayley enjoys spending time with her family.  A lover of all things food she enjoys attempting new recipes, especially bakes and cakes, and decorating her treats for family celebrations.  When not in her kitchen she burns off the calories at ballroom dancing and yoga classes.

 

Linda Bell

CONSULTANT (BENG, MCIHT)

Linda has over 15 years of experience in the development industry.  Prior to joining Focus TP she worked at Manchester City Council where she managed the portfolio of highway works at Manchester Airport. Other roles included managing project delivery of Section 278 / S38 Agreements and the implementation of Traffic Regulation Orders and highway permits. Before working at MCC, Linda cut her teeth in the private sector at consultancies Waterman Boreham, Denis Wilson Partnership and TPK, where she was responsible for preparing Transport Assessments and Technical Notes to support a wide range of development proposals and land-uses.

Home life for Linda is busy with two young daughters and their various after school activities. She loves all things crafty, with interests ranging from knitting and sewing / dressmaking, to the odd bit of DIY around the house. Linda also actively supports the Carver Juniors Theatre Group, including prop making, costume repair and set painting - though she hasn’t dared to take to the stage herself!
